Not many but it is stalling and strengthening. It's at 970 mb now.

Cat 2 is looking more and more likely every minute (I still think it stays cat 1), but cat 3 would be really tough to achieve.

anybody found any good ustreams or jtv's to watch? I asked this in the other thread but, does anyone remember those dudes from Houma who live streamed during Rita or Gustav drunk in their backyard?

Yep. Not enough ocean real estate left.

Ya.

The interesting thing is that South LA doesn't look like it does on the map with all the erosion (or so I've heard) so even if the radar shows "landfall" that may not be all that true, which is unfortunate.

will be interesting to see track forecast. TWC saying will be near BR around noon. Shingleton supposedly saying worst is early morning. The earlier the better.

Hubba you post that and then leave. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??? Why isn't the NHC saying anything about this?

Is the track still over BR or slightly west OR is it now going have the eastern portion of the eye cross over western Lake Pontchartrain?

Wonder how many Isaac babies will be made.

You're saying peak sustained winds of 122mph?

I've been working out in the yard for a few hours and heard nothing of that level of strengthening. I knew it was cat 1 but not high cat 2 on to cat 3.

How many other models are calling for that?

The ECMWF is calling for winds of 107 - 11 around noon tomorrow. Don't know of another predicting winds as high as 122 except the GFS. Most likely it is an outlier.

Hubb has been posting that for days. Who knows if it is right or not but haven't seen anything anywhere else close to those wind speeds.
