Random question....why is there no lightening and thunder associated with hurricanes?

they said earlier that it is because the clouds are lower in hurricanes than normal clouds in thunderstorms.

Anyone have any reports on Metairie? Looks like I am the only house that lost power on the street based on the internet(left town). Live in the Clearview area

The storm is obviously NOT moving NW at 8 mph

Long term average. They don't take into account the wobbles.

This is no longer a wobble, its a trend.

It moved SSW earlier. Then west, then WNW, then west, now it just moved SSW again.

GFS was right about this storm all along.

ETA: all transformers by cleary and west nap power station just blew! I almost shite my pants it was so loud

Also--anyone have any information on Slidell out by the wal-mart/mall/private airport? If anyone has specific info on the BelAir neighborhood, that would be awesome. Didn't see a thread for the area.

I see what you're saying, but I'm gonna trust the hurricane hunters and NHC instead of us swinging dicks looking at a radar picture.
