Having 19 Pallets put down this Saturday in Mandeville.
Any concerns or special attention I need to give it?
I know it is going down dormant, so I assume no treatments need to be applied until the growing season.
What about watering and if so, how often?

Zoysia is the only grass I will apply anymore....good choice.

I would check with real grass people on the application of water and when....
there are a few on this board, and sure they will respond.

Make sure all the native Bermuda is good and dead. I've got Bermuda in mine that is incredibly stubborn and will not go away. The zoysia did a good job of choking most of it out but some remains.

I'm in desperate need of this.

Mind sharing the supplier name and cost?

I had mine installed 2 years ago and I believe I just watered once a week until it got rooted in. It didn't require complete saturation like other grasses.

You want to keep it wet for the first two weeks. Based on current temps you can probably get away with once a day. After it has rooted can resume normal watering.

I had some installed in late Oct. They told me to water it every day until it was too soggy to walk on it.

I had pallisades zoysia at my last house. Looks great, pleasure to walk on but, It grows pretty fast and you might have to cut it every 5 days or so.

eta: bag it when you cut because it can be sensitive to thatch.

How does the company believe the grass will hold up under the oak and shaded areas? I have three large oaks and they decimate my grass into non existence!

Good performance in shade( very tolerant). Keeping it watered is the key. It will post likely thin out the heavier shaded areas but the battle for water is what’s prohibiting to most grass types.
