while none of the others have. Not even my neighbors trees are starting to get leaves. Why just this one?

Looks like one has died and the tree on the left is barley hanging on. The two up front have greened up nicely.

Some of my neighbors have been greening up too!

And yes I also hate them. I have 3 on each side of my driveway that form a tunnel and makes it god damn pain in the arse to get my big boat in and out. and there is ALWAYS a pile of shite by my back door because of them. But my loves them so they cant go...

must be a Houma thing. Your picture looks familiar.

Probably because it's right by his door and the damn thing are shedding something yea round. So it's probably always built up around the door, getting tracked in the house and also probably filling his gutters with debris. They are beautiful in bloom, but the rest of the year are a useless pain in the arse.

Not to mention the seeds that are constantly sprouting in the nearby flowerbeds.

Mine are greening up now too. I’ve never understood the hate for these trees, as they’re beautiful when in full bloom.

I have 3 in my yard by the street. One always greens up before the other 2. It's just the way the tree is.

Same variety as the others? Which variety?

The crepe Myrtle hate is because they constantly drop trash, whether bark, branches, leaves, or spent flowers.

The other thing is their suckers. If you try to remove a crepe Myrtle odds are you will be cursed with suckers forever.

That's a problem of placement...hate the planter, not the tree.

I like them myself.

Same question. Different varieties green up at different times. I have Natchez and think they are one of the last.

A properly trimmed crape myrtle will not send up suckers. 95% of crape myrtles are improperly trimmed. The most beautiful crape myrtles are the ones that are the most neglected. Seriously, just let them grown. You will be amazed at their natural beauty.
