I was trimming my Sunshine Ligustrum back today and noticed they were struggling a bit. But when I started trimming them, white flies went everywhere. Any suggestions for what to spray for the white flies?

I can't get rid of them. I spray Bifen and those frickers are back within a month.

Citrus
Sweet Viburnum
and other assorted shrubs around the house.

You need to use neem oil on the branches to suffocate the young, they are a sap-sucking insect, insecticide will not work.

I have used Bayer tree and shrub with great success. You mix the concentrate and it goes in the ground not a topical. Look for an ingredient called Imidacloprid in whatever you buy.

The soil-applied systemic insecticide imidacloprid can control whitefly nymphs.

Bought 3 bottles of this yesterday and put it out on a majority of the shrubs in the front. Still need to get a few more bottles. I sprayed Neem Oil on the shrubs that I had run out of the Bayer liquid. Hopefully these sunshine ligustrum recover. They look great when healthy.

I have 30ft of sweet viburnums that were completely infested - 2 rounds of talstar didn’t barely had any affect.

Drowned them with Imidacloprid on Friday and that seemed to have worked. Going to hit it again Friday. Hopefully that will get me through the winter and then I’ll hit it with a systemic drench.
