In addition to walls? I’ve read four wheel drive and wide tires are a must. Appears that Dolphin by Maytronics is one of the leaders, but they offer too many model choices which complicates things for me when deciding.

I’m open to other brands as well as long as steps are covered and walls.

I bought a Nautilus CC Plus last month, and question myself why I didn't do this sooner!
Does a great job of cleaning steps and waterline! Have not ever seen the pool so clean!
Also a breeze to clean!

Thank you for your feedback and recommendation. Can you control it via your phone? Is that even necessary? Do schedules matter? I envision taking it out of the pool when not in use and cleaning it and setting aside.

+1 on the Dolphin Nautilus CC, it worked great in the last pool we had, it was the best $800 we spent as far as pool equipment. Ours included the caddy which could be used to store the cleaner and cord, it also acted as the control center for start, stop, setting frequency of cleaning. It did have the ability to control by phone, I think it might have been Bluetooth compatible. I believe we had to be within a certain distance of the Nautilus caddy to be able to communicate with it, I never tried controlling it by phone from a remote location.

Agree with this. I've got a Doheny Discovery which is the exact same model. They've got a few different names for the same unit, but it works well.

Dolphin Triton PS is amazing. Uses an easy pull out filter basket instead of just cartridges.

I also have a Nautilus CC Pius and I’m happy with it. It does a good job with waterline, walls and bottom, but not great with steps, at least in my pool. Now, I anticipated this after scouring numerous websites and speaking with employees at pool stores in researching the subject prior to buying mine that no single robotic pool clean does a great job of cleaning steps.

I have 4 steps in my pool, top 2 are 16 inches wide, bottom 2 are 12 inches wide. Maybe if I had wider steps it would do a better job of cleaning them, but my cleaner is not capable orientating itself on an individual step to run down the entire length to the step, which is the width of the pool, to clean it effectively.

I don't think my dolphin nautilus cc plus has ever touched my steps, especially the top ones. Half the time it's stuck diagonally between bottom and side wall. If not there, over the pool drain.

Though mine will climb steps it often gets stuck between the second set of steps and the handrail that leads down Into the water

We have the Dolphin Triton PS and love it. Does a great job on the waterline, so-so on the steps.
Best feature is the easy to clean basket. Would buy another without hesitation.

Dolphin S200 here. Works great and does the waterline etc. it climbs up to the inflatable ring that goes around the pool and doesn’t pop it.

Buy the dolphin! Best money I’ve ever soent. I tried two of the cheaper models that hook from the skimmer or vaccum line and they didn’t do much. The dolphin gets the job done everytime and it’s very easy to maneuver.
