There are a few that are labeled as dog safe. One sold online and at Home Depot is called Instead and is supposed to have safe ingredients for pets.

Instead offers a planned shipping deal where they send you supposedly what you need when you need it. I’m tempted to do this in the backyard where the dogs mingle.

For most stuff I use (read your bag though) once you water in and it dries, it should be safe

24 hrs to dry unless your dog already has a stomach issue and is eating grass. Then you should figure out the problem with your dog's digestion.
99% of all landscape 'chemicals' are completely safe once dry or watered in. I've seen a guy drink a glass of properly mixed "roundup" when I got my degree. All the really bad chemicals have been banned in the US. Don't overdose your chemicals because it won't make a difference anymore.

So don't let your dog eat the fertilizer and make sure any wet chemicals are dry for a day.

You are absolutely right. Few of them are labelling as dog safe.
