could be a number of things,

verify the drain is clear..during the day when the unit runs the most, the extra condensate may not be getting out and my activate the inline float switch (not likely but a drain flush in the spring before the heat cranks up is good PM)

you should change your capacitor right now (likely culprit) as when they weaken they can absolutely work intermittently..Titan HD or Amrad , they are both made in the USA and cheap, keep a spare as well. I get the Titan HD off amazon for ~20 bucks and replace it in the spring when i flush my drain and clean my evaporator coil and condenser.

Oh boy… I have one of these piece of shite systems. Is it giving you an error code? Old or new thermostat? The problem is the system “communicates” with itself constantly but occasionally spazzes out.

I replaced my thermostat last year because it was old and I was getting a series of alternating fault codes - indoor and outdoor communication faults.

The new t-stat has been great u til a few weeks ago, it started again. Tech eventually decided it’s an issue with the new thermostat itself because all my connections and voltage checkout.

I hate this system with a passion. It’s 16 years old. Next year or two I will replace with a normal system.

In my house it has three thermostats. One was showing low battery. I change the battery, still same thing. Pulled one of the other stats. Started working. Went got a new thermostat, problem solved.
