Have a run of the mill echo….. been using true fuel forever in it

It starts easy, but doesn’t have the power ( probably not the right term… acceleration, rpm, etc..) as it used too

Any advice? 2 mechanically inclined at all, but could google and do simple stuff after some headache…

TIA

Have you changed the spark plug and cleaned or replaced the carb?

Haven’t did anything tbh. Wanted to find out what it may be before I tore into it.

Figured if I messed up anything further, then I’d spend another $200-300 on a new one, but would rather save it obviously

Get a battery powered one. No worries.

Do a quick Youtube search for carb adjustment for that model. Maybe a high speed adjustment is all you need.

Something like this maybe

Get a $15 tune up kit from Amazon. Spark plug. Air filter. Fuel filter. I would do that before anything else and see how it runs.

Had a similar problem. It was the fuel lines starting to crack and break, I could see it once I looked close. Ordered a new kit with the bulb and all for like $15 online. Think I had got it from repairclinic.com also had to buy some extended needle nose pliers that had an angle on the end to grab the fuel line on the inside the tank and pull it through.

Change the spark plug, add seafoam to your fuel and clean or ditch the spark arrestor. If you’re not confident hit YouTube. I would not adjust the carb if it was previously running fine.

The answer to this question is almost always either change your spark plug or remove the spark arrestor. Try those two and get back with us.
