Anyone using this ? Scam or does it work? I know you still have to add some chlorine

Scam.
Why are you considering it?

I have a UV light filter to go along with chlorine just to help reduce water maintenance. What is the Ozone’s supposed benefit?

we have a uv filter on our pool. as far as chlorine goes, it does use less imo.
as far as water maintenance, it is a lot easier to keep the water balanced. i hardly ever have to add anything and my water stays perfect throughout the year, even in cold months.

I maintain pools on the side. Based on my experience, it's a waste of money.

as i understand it, the UV might make sense for indoor pools or HVAC ducts but outdoor pools by definition get all the UV they could ever possibly need from the sun so its pretty much snake oil.
we had one at our old pool and the lights were burned out and it was going to cost a few hundred to replace them so we didn't bother. if we had stayed at that house we would have likely removed it.

Probably technically works, but it's not effective. You need sanitizer in the pool to kill organics as they come in contact with the water. With the ozone machine, nothing is killed until it passes through the machine.
Imagine a bird shitting in your pool. With chlorine, it instantly begins to break down. With only an ozone generator, it wouldn't break down until those shite particles passed through the machine.

Correct. These methods kill at contact. Can be good for commercial applications but those systems have limitations too. For example some commercial UV systems have a wiper blade to clean the glass. Anything on the glass can interfere.
Ozone can be carona discharge which is essentially mini lightning strikes making ozone gas or UV ozone. UV ozone has a bulb and the bulb could last years but the actual UV effectiveness will burn out much faster than the actual bulb. People will run these for years thinking they are getting ozone due to it being lit but it isn’t actually working.
