With all the trees downed from Laura, I think it is time for me to consider getting a tree company to cut down my pine trees.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm in Kenner.
Thanks.

I had 7 taken out last year and it cost about $2,800. They used a crane for the largest two because they were too close to power lines to just lay down.

Price depends on how big they are but mostly where they are. I had a 50ft oak cut down that was 10ft from my house. All the tree guys said it was an “all day job” and quoted me from 1200-1600 including stump as a cash price. I hired the cheapest guy and they started at 0800 and were done by 1030. Did a great job but I was pissed he told me an all day job and was done in 2.5hrs. I wanted him to work for his money.

This. The quote for a large elm tree that is about halfway between the front of my house and the utility lines the same price as the quote to remove 4 bigger trees on the back of my property where they only had to worry about the back fence.

I'd wait a couple of weeks. You will pay a premium, as their free time is scarce.

Probably wait several months. My tree guy was scheduled to trim an oak in my back yard this week.
He cancelled with an apology. He's headed to the Lake Charles/Deridder area to assist and make big $$.
Told him I understood and pulled out my polesaw and went to work yesterday.

If Tree Tech goes to Kenner I would highly recommend them.

Can any of you who had work done please give names and contact info? Thanks.

All I can say is tree cutting services are in high demand after a natural disaster and prices reflect.
If I were you, I'd wait til like February when not much tree cutting is going on
