So last night I tar papered the walls and today I hung the hardiebacker. I planned on tape and thinset also today, but I decided to start drinking instead.

Taped and sealed the seams today. So I should redguard also? I thought membrane on top of tar paper was a no no.

How long do I have to wait till I can grout?

Depends on the mortar used but typically 24-48 hrs

Decided to hold off on grout and did this today. Refinished the tub.
