Tacky ? Trendy ?
Maybe if you live in a subdivision.
Which is why I said if you live in the country, with some acreage, they are great.
Tacky ? You can make them look however you want, with whatever siding and trim you want. If it comes out tacky then that is the fault of the designer or the one who makes the selections.

What roughly finished square footage are you expecting out of that building? and is the $175k for the entire costs, or just the shell and slab and rough plumbing/electrical?
Living 2100 / total under roof 5300. The 175k loan is just to frame the inside to include drywall, hvac, plumbing, electrical… etc
Basically I had enough to cover the foundation, porches , metal building shell, and all concrete. This was 139,000 total for everything. So you can see the total project cost is still ridiculous (three times what I would have paid five years ago) - but it is what it is. I lost my home in IDA so I had no choice but to build now.

You got blueprints on how it is going to be laid out?

I sure do - I would be happy to email to you if you want to take a look.

Would love to watch the progress, I live in St Amant as well. Would you shoot me an email and tell me about where it is? I understand if you don't. LJP4lsu@yahoo.com

Is this finished out cost with fixtures and such?
How much is the framing for the living area? We want +/- 2000sft but not nearly 5300sf under roof! What size shell is that?

The total finished interior framing price for living area (obviously floating with market issues) was quoted at 187,000. I only needed a loan for about 175k. Price is finished with fixtures and move in ready.
Shell is 60x40.
I spend a lot of time outside and wanted a large back porch and carport (part of which is screened in) so a huge portion of my exterior cost was tied into concrete for the porch & carport.

Framing, electrical, mechanical and plumbing rough-in inspections all passed this week. Sheet rock starting next week.
Add three times to your budget is the best advice I can give.
