A cedar swing set kit was bought for my daughter. Backyard Discovery brand Saratoga model. Precut cedar set. Seems like it's at least 15000 pieces. Made in China. Looking for a answer reviews or good search didn't provide

There is something that I would best describe as a silver like dust on the boards. Assume it's something to prevent rot, bugs, etc on it's trip over. Is that what it is and should I be worry about getting it off?

I put one together last year. 8 boxes of shite. Barely labeled and minimal directions.

Prayers sent.

Not tasting it

My was only 2 boxes. Little “fort” in middle with monkey bars on one side and swings on other. If your set was 4x the size of mine, you built more like a castle

Does it come off if you wipe your hand on it?

I put one together a few months ago and don’t remember any dust. Some pieces had a bit of a silver finish to it but that was about it.

Big tip, go get some ziplocks and put each step’s hardware in a separate bag. It will help you move faster and I found that the dirtier the other bags get, the more likely that the sticker with the part number comes off.

Do the same with the wood for each step. Just stack them in order and lay the parts bag by it.

Good luck

Throw the directions away.

Then, throw away your weekend to assemble it.

Good luck, we’re all counting on you.

Put on a respirator and take your leaf blower to the boards

My nephew bought one of those type sets for his 2 sons a few years ago that had a slide, monkey bars, 2 single swings, a glider type swing, fort and climbing wall.

He called me to see if I'd be interested in helping put it together and I just had to laugh, wished him luck and hung up.

He and 2 friends spent an entire weekend trying to figure it out to put it together since he said the instructions were pretty vague. Then said he'd never do that again.

It took me, my dad, and a buddy (yaboylaroy) 8-10 hours to put one together for my kids last Christmas.

I bought this made in USA cedar rig this year at $370.
There are YT videos from the manufacturer and you'll need an impact driver. I assembled it and it's a sturdy unit.

Cedar Swing

WRT the silver dust - hose it off. It rained heavily after I assembled my swing and just awaited a couple of weeks before coating it.

Still not sure about the silver stuff. Brushed most of it off with a small broom
