New house (to us), my speed queen washer was working fine but now it takes forever to fill with water. So long that it errors out, have to unplug it and restart.

Occasionally it will turn on and you can hear the water full force, then after 20 or so seconds it's back to a trickle. Doesn't do that every time though, sometimes it's just a trickle the entire time.

Water pressure throughout the house is great, same issue on hot, cold, or warm water.

Any ideas?

What model do you have?

You can probably find out how to put it in maintenance mode. Then turn the water on and off via mode, hot and cold. That will likely show if each of the inlet valves are working properly.

I would not think it is water pressure, being that it ok elsewhere and at times on the washer.

Going to check that tomorrow, wife wouldn't quit doing laundry long enough for me to check today. Sure didn't stop her from nagging about it though

If you have the hoses that have the check valve in them in case they rupture, you may have triggered it when you moved by turning on the water supply valve too fast. That happened to me when we moved our SQ to a new house.

Turn the water off, relieve the pressure, and turn the water on slowly and see if that helps.

Check the hoses and the screens where the water goes into the machine.
Make sure you have no kinks in the hoses and that the water is running strongly through the lines.
If the hoses are clear and no blockages then you need a new inlet valve.

Pulled the lines today, checked both sides. Nothing in them. Ran them not connected, they run full blast.

Will find the inlet valve and replace it I guess.

Thanks for the help!

It's pretty easy to do. If you need me to look up the part number post your model number.

I can't help you, but are they worth the price? Going to buying a new washer soon, and was looking at a Speed Queen. Thanks

TC5 model with the knobs. It's a powerful beast. Has also reduced my detergent use by 1/3rd. Just don't need as much.

We've had ours since 2015, this is the first time anything has gone wrong with either washer or dryer. They are used A LOT at my house. It's rare we have a day where there is 0 laundry done.

I had this issue and it was the fill mixing valve. $35 part on Amazon, 20 min to replace.

I don’t want to hijack this thread but, I was about to start a thread when I saw this one. I have a TC5 model washer that I bought in June 2019. I made a warranty claim about a year after we got the washer because it would beep at random intervals even when the machine was not on. I’m not exactly sure what the repairman did to fix this but I remember him telling me that it was a known problem. Fast forward and the washer is beeping again. It doesn’t appear to be any kind of pattern to the beeps that would indicate an error code. It just beeps randomly. I have been keeping it unplugged to make it stop. I called Speedqueen this morning and was told that my washer had a 3 year warranty so it’s on me to get it fixed. Would any of you know what would be causing the beeping? Washer is level and nothing is obstructing the water hoses or drain hose that I can tell.

You need to change the inlet valve. It’s no big deal. Just remember to take pictures of how things go back together

You sent a different part number, not for my machine. But I also appreciate your feedback.
