Samsung Dryer not heating up

Moved into a rent house and the dryer isn’t working. Landlord isn’t responsible for washer and dryer and they were left by a previous tenant. It’s an electric front loading Samsung dryer. Any suggestions on where to start?

The controls work? Its likely the heating element if the controls work, its a $35 part you can order on amazon or get from a local part supplier. Its a coil and you can generally visually tell if its broken because the coil will have a break in it.
If you are at all handy, its a pretty easy job. You can youtube it.

The dryer should have a reset on the heating element. You normally need to take off the back panel, youtube it. Normally this is caused by a backup of lint. Start here.

Yeah its most likely the heating element, I got one from Stantons appliance like 30 or so bucks. After that my drum actually cracked on the dryer only a year old, will never buy a samsung again...

Local appliance store should have the part. Just had to replace a Thermistor on our Samsung dryer, very easy fix. Dudes at the store said this is a common problem with Samsung dryers.

And go ahead and clean that thing out while you have it opened up.

Unplug it, let it sit for 15 min then try again.
