How long should I want for reseeding an area in my yard after I kill the weeds?

I have no idea what type of Bermuda it is. New sod was planted prior to moving into the house five years ago. I have a bag of Scott's Bermuda seeds.

Don't do it. Get a proplugger and make plugs. You will make a patchwork looking lawn and be filled with regret. I assume the scotts brand seed is filled with other types of seed also.

A seeded bermuda is going to be common bermuda. Just about every single sodded yard is going to be a hybrid. If the seed takes then your lawn will look off as hybrid and common look different.

Even though I have had good luck with the grass seeds with fertilizer from Lowe's I am looking at two seeds types from Outsidepride. Which would work best? I am in zone 7a so I need something cold tolerant. Both of these are good to zone 6. This will be used mainly for overseeding and bare spots.
Which grass seed will choke out the other?

One Bermuda isn’t going to choke out another. They will always be there. Royal txd generally has a better look than Yukon. The current top seed is Monaco though.

Given the rain South Louisiana has had in last 3 weeks how long does common Bermuda seed take to germinate and you can see the sprouts. I’m two weeks in almost and see nothing.

It takes a few weeks from seed and is usually not the easiest thing to do. The frequent rains and heat combined are helping a lot though.

I threw some Hancock down in the back and depended only on rain.
It sprouted in less than a week.
Impressive stuff.
I’ve still never watered it and that was about 3 weeks ago. Looks great!
