Removing bathroom mirror and lights; installing mirror w/ built in lights

Has anyone ever replaced a bathroom mirror and light fixture with a single mirror that contains a built in LED?
EDIT: the junction box that the current light fixture is attached to is 20 inches above the 32 inch tall mirror
At this point would it be easier/safe to lower the junction box behind the mirror?

How does the mirror LED light connect to its power source? Is it just a receptacle plug or is it stripped wires that need wire nuts?
If it's got a plug you can put a receptacle in place of the old light fixture and just plug it in. If it has stripped wires you can just get utilize the termination box that is there.
If your wires coming down the wall aren't long enough to get you as low as you'd like, you can go in the attic and trace the wire out. Then cut the wire and add a splice box with a fresh wire going back into that wall. Then cut to length and tie in the light.

I just posted my edit. I would be getting one that has hidden wires that tie in directly to a junction box. Ideally it would be the junction box that powers the existing light fixture above the current mirror.

Drop a wire from that box, then catch the wire, put in a popin box. Rock and mud the old box, you can get a cover for the old box.

If there are still wires passing through the old box, it’s a code violation to cover it up where it’s not accessible

Relocate the existing juction box to the attic space above the bathroom, run new wires to the new juntion box behind the mirror and patch the wall where the old box was.

What type of light are you discussing OP? I’d make sure you have enough light in the room and the mirror light is extra, or see how easy it is to change that bathroom mirror bulb. If even possible? Just something I’ve ran into before.

You would need to see if the box is attached to a stud and if it would be easy to remove. If you can pull the wires back out of it and just bypass it, you can patch the wall over it while still in place.
As we've mentioned in this thread, I'd pull the wire up into the attic, splice into a JB, then drop a fresh wire down the wall to cut to length. Then patch the old hole and blend/texture/paint with the wall.
Next question - does your mirror mount in some way to the junction box? Or will it be mounting to the wall somewhere else? If it does not need structure to hang, a pop-in box would make this super simple. Then there would be no need to find a stud to mount it.
