I just don't see how Troyer and Cretin are in the same conversation. Seems to me like Troyer is $1mm+ and Cretin is way $500 and down

DSLD, the official home builder of the OT

They get a lot of hate here. But when we were looking at new homes in Baldwin County the subdivisions we looked at with DSLD weren’t bad at all. Definitely better than fricking DR Horton. Ultimately we went with Truland but DLSD wasn’t the dumpster fire folks make them out to be.

Hey nattylite, good to see some neighbors running around this place

OP ride around and get names. So far some solid info but please use local guys. I promise if you get some out of town guys come here and beat prices you are going to get burned.

Wheres your lot? They have plenty in the thibodaux area. TPP does good work, LaDay, chris ledet homes are good, ASA construction seems to do good work also. All are about the same price which will be about $100 sq ft

Troyer goes in with cheap allowances and gets you on back end with extras. Tyson is pretty honest with real prices and accountability.

We met with Chris Ledet Homes and A Plus so far. Going to talk to a guy in Thibodaux with the same lat name about plans later this month. So far we liked both guys, but may go with A Plus, because they'll take over our land in escrow and we can buy the finished house from them instead of doing a construction loan.

Yea $100 sq ft based off your total sq ft is what i keep getting back. So your home is say 2800 sq ft, they will quote you around 280k to build.

We are in the process of finishing our plans and have talked to a few builders. They all want the final set of drawings before they give us a good solid bid.

I'd go with a manufactured home by Cavalier or another manufacturer. Way cheaper in price per sq ft that a ground-up construction, plus you can walk through models you like and make any changes/upgrades you want. Some great models, and can get a 1800 sq ft for around $100k

Talked to two so far both in the $120-125/ total sq foot range which I feel is high. Hell its almost 100k more than a price we got with Cretin last year.

Louisiana is already ruined beyond repair, but DLSD is absolutely destroying the housing market.

It will be very interesting to see what this place looks like in 10 years littered with these crap home subdivisions that will look like 3rd world countries.

We were told $110 total sq ft. From Pelican Builders as a mid range can go up or down depending on trim levels and talking with a friend he has been hearing similar
