I have a big back yard but it is mainly vegetable garden now so what little I have to cut is back and forth in the back yard.
The front yard is not very big but I tend to cut in from the outside in and going in circles as I cut.

Seems to me, the more time you spend turning corners versus actually mowing grass, the longer the process will take.
Without doing the math, it seems to me when you closer to the center of your concentric circle, you spend a lot of time turning and lifting your mower.
Therefore, I do like most here and do a ring around the perimeter, then rows of some sort.
But if it looks nice, (and yours does in the pic), circle all you want!

Sometimes in rows across this way and sometimes the other.
Sometimes in a divided half circle moving over one row at a time.
Sometimes even diagonally.
(jus never the same)
and
Sometimes with a weed eater if I'm cutting my wooded yard and not my parents picture perfect night mare.

Going in a square pattern is an easier way to go, but the rows look 10x better
