Porch Column Colors

Little help here, wasn’t sure if there is a standard to go by.
I’m changing my porch columns to a bigger radius. The old ones were kind of a beige or light tan and we had a peach colored brick. We painted our brick to a shade of white and was wondering what to paint the columns. Fiberglass round tapered columns. The soffit and fascia are the same color as the brick

We painted our columns and dormers “Shoji White”. It’s an off white color. My painter mentioned there’s a “Baton Rouge White” that he’s used on exterior surfaces that’s supposedly blended to reduce bugs/mildew. Sounds like BS but

There are now paint additives that do help prevent mold and mildew in paint once applied. You can get it added at the paint store when they mix your color and it is sold in packets you can add to your paint.

Ha, that’s the color we painted the house. Will probably do columns the same

What color is the window trim? White vinyl, off white, beige? Stand on the street in front of your house and see what jumps out: often people forget about the permanent trim around the windows. Depending on the other ambient colors, you might choose to match this tone....or if the window surrounds disappear into the brick, you might choose to match the soffit/fascia.
Also consider the front door color...is it boring, varnished wood, or is it an accent color? You don't want too many competing similar but not quite exact colors on the exterior. I live in a neighborhood of new builds, and all beiges are NOT the same. If I had a nickel for every $400k+ house in my area that look shitty builder-grade even though they're custom, I could buy a large snowball. Pay attention to the undertones--cool vs. warm.

And take 25 years off the age of your house.

My neighbor just replaced some old busted looking ornamental wrought iron columns and railings with wood beams. Looks great. He hasn't finished them out yet, so I'm not sure if he's going to stain or paint them, but it does look much better than the old rusty iron that was there. I think he mainly needed to address the railings on his brick steps, and instead of trying to repair those he just replaced everything with new wood.

We are in a similar situation with our soffit, fascia and porch ceilings (our cypress columns are being stained with "dark oak" twp).
Your comment on the color of the window trim caught my attention. We are stressing over the color to paint our cement fiber soffit, fascia and porch ceilings. I'm of the opinion that we should stick to the color of our windows (krestmark "clay") to be a little uniformed. My buddy, who is a builder, says no. He says we should go with a lighter color and not match it so that the windows stand out a bit.
I think he's crazy and I'm right.
Thoughts?
