About a week ago my toilet started hissing for 10-15 minutes after each flush. Then it became an hour. Then it was all day everyday. Today I replaced all the components inside the tank and now I can tell that it’s leaking water out of the tank into the toilet and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from, why it’s happening or how to fix it.

It will fill up. Take 30 seconds to drain. Then fill up again. Constantly doing this.

All the parts are new and are completely sealed so idk what to do. Any advice?

Replace your flapper, if you did this the seal connecting tank to bowl is probably bad

remove the tank from the bowl, and replace the tank to bowl gasket.

Just replace the whole mechanism including the seal. Don’t need a plumber to do that.

Water is leaking thru the flapper into the bowl.

If it’s a new flapper, it’s not sealing which could be just a mismatch and you need to try another flapper style or over time, putting bowl cleaners in the tank has scarred rim of the spot the flapper rests against.

Change the toilet is a good solution.

Side question while we discussing toilets.
10 or so seconds after mine flushes and finishes filling , there is a loud vibrating noise. Anyone know what this is.

Your flapper is your problem if it's leaking into the bowl.

Not always, I've seen a broken/cracked overflow pipe cause this a well. But usually the flapper not sealing.

But it's definitely something with the tank components.

Sam's has a complete toilet with all the valves, wax ring, seat etc. that's a dual flush, handicap compliant for like $90

Flapper is not sealing. Chain may need to be set longer or float adjusted

That is a water hammer. Cold water line needs a shock stop or air chamber.

I replaced a an entire toilet today for first time. It was easy, inexpensive and only involved a few step, just watched YouTube video. Total cost was around $150. Most toilets come with everything required for install. You may want new, longer water line

Replacing a toilet isn't hard. What some people forget to do is take into account how much space they have from the tank to the wall or the bowl to the wall in the back and remember to include the quarter round/moulding into account. I helped a guy one time who forgot to measure that. So he had to remove the quarter round and a section of the molding so it would fit right.

True. Some even think they can re-use the old wax seal instead of always going with a new one, then wonder why the toilet is leaking onto the floor. lol

That is gross. Never heard of anyone doing that. Most toilets come with wax rings.
