After accidentally nuking my yard at the beginning of this year, I have finally brought it back to where it looks pretty dang nice. The only issue is that it is absolutely infested with nutsedge. Like 20% of the yard is probably nutsedge mixed in with my bermuda. Should I go ahead and blanket spray Image to try and knock it back or just say the hell with it and leave it as is. Its really pretty right now and I put a ton of effort in getting it to grow back, but my OCD is kicking in every time I go in the back yard and see those shiny nutsedge leaves in my bermuda. I also know that if I don't address it at some point I will be dealing with it for years. I keep going back and forth.

What would the Home and Garden Board do?

Picture from March to see how far it's come.

Sedgehammer or Dismiss. Dismiss acts “hotter” and will work quicker but is a little more expensive I think (I get free sedgehammr).

Image will work as well

Yes - why not - or use Sedgehammer. And as the nutsedge dies over the next 3 weeks, new sedges will emerge so anticipate having to spray again when it does.

I saw those pictures and thought it went from what it looked like to what it looks like. How’d you eff it up in the beginning? Wrong tank spray?

Image blanket spray will work.

I just got word that Bayer is coming out with Celsius Extra. Celsius plus the active ingredient in sedgehammer.

I sprayed 2-4D in mid-February to kill the clover and Poa Annua in the yard and I think my BIL had used roundup in there before. He lives down the street and we share a lot of lawn equipment.

My main concern is burning my grass because image has a tendency to do that when I spot spray so I didn’t want to frick it up again.

Even if Celsius Extra is $200/bottle I’ll still probably pay for it. That stuff is legit for Bermuda grass.

Appreciate the responses everyone

Bermuda front

Zoysia back

The only damn weed I have is nutsedge. I can't keep ahead of it. Even in my natural areas where I use roundup it just keeps on coming.

Get you a bottle of Outrider. Its a little pricey but 1 oz per acre will do the trick. Its also takes care of buttonweed and a few other weeds.

No shite. I won’t be of any use on this board. Generic response will be Celsius Extra.

I used the Miracle Gro Lawn Food. LINK

It is a granular that you dissolve then use a hose end sprayer to apply. Its a 30-0-6. Applied at 1 pack per 1,800 sq. ft. The hose end sprayers kind of suck so you have to keep walking over the area until the granules are gone. Each box is $15 and comes with 4 packs which can cover up to 7,200sq ft. Applied during the evening.

Its not Tif its called Daniella. I had it hydroseeded in last year when I leveled the back yard. It took really well and bounced back great.

Yep. Same exact chemical, but I don't think it is labeled for residential use.

Its the range and pasture version of certainty.

Both work great on sedge.
