I’m in dfw and rescue has all but died off. Really strange that you have it still. You could spray monument but it’s not really worth it at this point. Put down a double dose of simazine or single dose of specticle in the fall and it shouldn’t be an issue.

Very good point. However, I must ask, how important is a nice yard to you? Do you just want something "presenatable" or "your pride and joy?" If its the latter and your lawn is the "typical" suburban lot you really may consider just biting the bullet and getting a tiller and putting down new sod. Now, if you plan on moving in two years or so this might not be a good option. But if its important to you and you're NOT patient just do it.

How do I target rescue grass in a bermuda lawn?

You really can't i don't think. It should be dying off right about now. Mine in North LA just died off a couple weeks ago. It really did a number on my lawn this year. Mowing regularly should help kill it off I believe.

Craw, do you have familiarity with cool zone grasses and weeds, or just southern? I've got some shite areas I'm trying to figure out and our extension office from Purdue is dogshit.

No I don’t have knowledge of cool season grasses. Maybe ronk has good knowledge of cool season grasses.

If you you are not happy with the assistance provided by your local county extension agent, then I’d contact the primary turf extension specialist on main campus to see if he will provide better assistance. That appears to be Dr. Aaron Patton LINK. Make sure you tell him you’ve not been satisfied with assistance you’ve gotten at the county level, and provide him as much information as possible on your lawn issues, past and present. Photos always help when appropriate.

well, that area is a bit away from Lafayette, but in general the terrain and climate is similar. One of those FB stories, guy I went to middle school with in the mid 70's moved to Indiana and has is own landscape company. Pretty good guy. Maybe the "contact us" can help.

Thanks a lot for the reply and digging out a potential contact. I'll check that route. As someone else mentioned South Bend is a small hop grom Purdue's main campus, but I figured they have a county extension here in St. Joe County that exists for this, lol. Calling them only gets a "we can't help you on the phone, please email us" intern response, and emailing is completely non-responsive.
