Mulch glues: anybody tried a brand that worked well or failed and should avoid?

I'm about to put out 5 yards of mulch. I want to lock it down before fall leaves take over.

Any sage advice?

Don’t use it. Leaves are a natural mulch anyway. Using the glue is pointless and never really works.

This also really isn’t the application for it.

Are you speaking from experience or just opinionated?

Serious question - what kind of mulch do you use-prefer that requires it to locked down, or perhaps better stated, won’t stay in place with rain, etc without being locked down? I’ve never heard of mulch glue, much less someone using it.

i understand the sentiment: you lose a lot of mulch when getting rid of the leaves. raking or w/ a blower.

I've never seen this used successfully in terms of resiliency. Always needs more applications and if you over-apply it, it looks terribly fake.

I let the leaves rot in my beds then I re-add pine straw the next Spring

OK - I think I understand now, this is more wanting to get rid of leaves that fall into already mulched landscaped beds and keeping existing mulch place when one uses a blower b/c one doesn’t like the aesthetics of leaves in their landscape beds.

I’m one of those that like the mulching effect leaves in the landscape beds provide and I recycle leaves for that purpose anyway. I use pine straw as mulch and it stays in place even when using a blower but one would have a difficult time blowing all leaves out of pine straw.

I’ve seen it used for small grained limestone and pea gravel walks with decent success

Both. In my opinion it should not be used. It doesn’t work. It looks bad. Waste of money

me too, if they're shredded--like w/ a mulching lawn mower set high on a pile of leaves, then blown into the beds. but when they're varying sizes and condition and not spread out evenly, not as much
