Damn man. That looks terrible. Its amazing the different from where you are to me. Not that far by car but a huge temp difference. I saw a few things around here that got beat up but not much. I was up around University today and saw some things up there that are totally brown. But even that us north of me. Do you think some of those are going to recover? Those Banana look burnt.

I took everything back outside today. All the plants out of the house except my Majestic palm. I like it inside. I have it in a corner and its getting some sun through two windows. Not sure how long it will do well there with the limited sunlight

I basically had two Christmas palms , two small bottle palms, some desert roses and a newly purchased 7g Flame thrower. I had just got the flame thrower last week and had not even watered it yet. I took everything outside today, they are inside my pool cage, it all got watered by hand. I also have a nice size Sago Palm in a pot, a couple of pots with baby sun rose and a big pot with some Mandevilla and fern mixed.

My weekly water for all those plants are mixed in a 4 gallon bucket. I put 4 table spoons of Foliage Pro 9-3-6 and 30 drops of Microbe Mosquito control. Mix it up and feed it to everything heavily out there on the pool deck.

I have been doing that most of the last 5 months and I think its really helping over just plain water.

I watered everything this morning and my flame thrower changed color to a much deeper green today while I was away. It was in partial sun through the cage. Not really sure how to gage sun through the pool fence. I would say the sun was on it about 3 hours max. Not hot today but much better than the last week

I think I’ll have a better handle on the damage once we get to late March and April. I’m pretty doubtful about a few of the mango trees. Especially the small young ones. Some of the larger more mature trees may bounce back. I’m not expecting any fruit from the mangoes this year. Perhaps I’ll get lucky with a few that haven’t bloomed yet.

The bananas have a corm/psuedostem underneath which I’m hoping survived due to proximity to my house and perhaps a bit of radiant heat. I’m somewhat optimistic about it.

Only time will tell. There’s a lot of wrecked trees in my area. Areca palms got smoked. Papayas are toast. At the same time; my neighbors Sapote took it like a champ; no visible damage. Same with his guava.

Let me assure you, the bananas are fine. They don't die die even here. Those corms will send up new pups in a few weeks.

Here's the large cattley guava from Etsy on arrival and today. I have pruned this thing heavily several times over the last year.

These photos don't really do the big one justice. It's a bad angle. Thing is about 7 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide. That's a 20g pot it's in.

That’s what I’m counting on. They look bad; but, they aren’t nuked just yet. I got 3 bundles from it this year with another still on the vine. Been rolling since 21’; hoping it will bounce back in 27’.

I saw you reference yellow guava when referring to these. The cattley I'm seeing on Logees is a strawberry. Am I misunderstanding? I want to order one.

Here is the one you want.

Some people like the red, so don't let me discourage you from trying those too. Same amazing growth characteristics as the yellow.

Thanks, my current guava is a pink so I think I'll go with the lemon. I'm going to plant both of them in the ground and keep them small enough to where I can put the greenhouse over them in the winter.

Good plan. The lemon is wayyyy tougher than the tropical pink guava but also a different taste experience. You'll get the best of both worlds. I prefer regular tropical guava personally, but the lemon is also delicious.

I ordered a 1 gallon Pickering and Dwarf Hawaiian today to put in my office. Last year I had a difficult time finding a Pickering. I kind of want to try a peppercorn plant for my office as well. Ever tried one?

I've been scrolling through this thread for the past 30 minutes trying to find etsy recs for mango trees. It looks like OrchidTreeGardens is taking a break from selling. Anybody on etsy I should look for?

I ordered from Thegreenshouse and TropicalplantsFL, but all the pickerings I got were miserable, including OrchidTreegardens

The best I've gotten is a M4 from thegemgarden off ebay
