I have a Speed Queen natural gas drier that works great but it’s only about 2 years old and has had to be cleaned out each year when I started smelling a burnt hair smell. The location of the flame at the bottom isn’t ideal with the flame being down there since an electric one will have the heating element up at the back of the unit.

Is there a seal I should check or maybe something the manufacturer may have not included? This is after I had sucked up about 50% of the lint and pretty much all of it was brown/black from the heat:

Yeah that doesn't look right. There will be some buildup over time, but not that fast or discolored, things should be sealed up better than that. I had to fix our 5 year old dryer last year, and there was some lint up in there but none on the hot spots that would brown up. Almost looks like it's staying too damp down there on the fire tube and controls.

I had similar issue with a Speed Queen. Threw it out.

Looking at the burner and to the right side... the blower. It looks like the dryer is designed so that the "blower" sucks the air out of the dryer. The air is then sucked through the burner.

Could it be (?) that the burnt "lint" is actually not coming from the dryer? Could that brown "burnt" stuff maybe dog or cat hair? You said it had a smell to it.

Looks like you're not venting out that good. What kind of vent do you have in the back? How long is your run?

Though I see worse than that all the time.
