I have a set of Wusthof kitchen knives that need sharpening in a bad way. Looking for recommendations for places that sharpen kitchen knives in the Baton Rouge/Denham Springs area.

I know, I could do it myself, but I have a habit at really messing up the edge on a good knife. I would prefer to just have a professional do it. So...thanks in advance for any recs.

I've used this Furi Sharpener for for > 20 yrs. It comes with a coarse, medium, and fine cross fingers. Very easy to use. I usually finish with a Cozzini Primedge sharpener.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I was looking more for a local place to take my knives to, but I will check out these options.

HF 1x30 Belt Sander

Here is some reading while your knives are in the shop to be sharped.

I use one and once you get the hang of it, does not take long to keep your knives sharp.

There's a thread on the outdoor board about the Work Sharpe Precision adjust. I'd highly recommend it the Elite model. It's fool proof and you can't mess a knife up. Bought this and put a scary sharp edge on all of my kitchen cutlery. You should see my filet knives.

Ask your barber whom they use to sharpen their shears. They’ll have a solid recommendation. Typically a few around towns.

Williams Sonoma mail in sharpening service

Don’t know anything about this service, but it was in an email today. Not exactly what you requested but might be option if you do t want to do it yourself.

I bought the harbor freight 1x30 belt sander as another poster suggested. Have trizac belts from 300 grit up to 1500 grit I think. Then a leather belt with polisher to finish. I can get 90% of my knives shaving hair on my arm in less than 2 mins. Once you get the angle right it’s super easy.

Worksharp Ken Onion edition. Been using mine for 15 years. They have better sharpeners now. Recommend worksharp and do it yourself.

Some Ace Hardware stores sharpen knives, think the price is about $7/knife. Quick, takes a couple minutes per knife and you’re done.
