I bought this a few years ago. Never any problems and I put three blades on it for a wider trench.

I have been using a Mclane edger for 25 years edging every week when i have cut grass. Still runs like a champ. Does a great job. You get what you pay for.

I personally like Shindaiwa. It is an absolute workhorse.
I've also owned a Craftsman, Ryobi, and Black & Decker. The Craftsman was solid. The Ryobi with a full battery is great for smaller jobs/light edging. Didn't like the B&D at all.

The only downfall was it was a little slower going, I kind of had to roll it back and forth to get a good cut, almost like it didn't have as much power.
Probably needs a new blade. As it erodes away, the tip velocity falls off so you get less ‘power’

I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a tooth pick than use that.
I have a 10+ year old Toro, given to me, that's been nothing but a hammer for both weed eating and edging with one carb "rebuild". It starts on the second pull. I cut 7 yards last week and 2 this week as my side hustle.
I bought a Craftsman 25 and it was a pile of shite on the second cut and I promptly returned it.
And if you go the battery powered route, you better have a yard the size of a medium swimming pool and a 1000 foot of sting.
