Recently, we installed some new cypress beams inside and wife wanted them stained. I stained them but I can't stand the color and want to go back to natural look with a wax.

Can I remove the stain on beams or I will have to replace the beams. FYI: I never applied a sealer to the beams, if that makes a difference.

Thank you for your help

Sand down to the color you want and seal, or you can try striping it with steel wool and Paint stripper.

Either way I would get another piece of cypress and stain it just like you did your beams and use it as a test piece.

You going to be sanding a long time. Would be easy to just replace them and sell what you have if you can.

Buy the bosh 6 inch sander that has both rotary and random orbital motion. Sand in rotary to remove material fast, also hook it up to a vac.

Hold on tight with both hands.

Slowly bake it off in an oven.
