Since Roundup mysteriously quit working on Johnson Grass, my go-to herbiscide is no longer effective. What is the best thing to use to kill Johnson grass.

If it is really Johnson grass regular mowing will get rid of it. It needs to convert a ton of sunlight into food storage in its root system. Mowing on a regular reduces the amount of sunlight it can get and it will starve to death.

If it’s Johnson grass is the big question. Better hope it’s not Raul grass. That shite spreads quick no matter if you kill it. Seeds can stay dormant for 7 years

Clethodim at 12-16 oz/acre plus a 1% crop oil concentrate. Best long term control if applied tween Sept 15 and Oct 15 but will control emerged plants now also.

You can beat back the above ground part now but to get long term control of the below ground stem (the rhizome) you have to apply in fall (mid Sept to Mid Oct) when carbohydrate is being translocation for the below ground portion instead of growing points above ground. Again at both timings clethodim at 12-16 oz plus 1% crop oil concentrate. Sounds like the jgrass has developed resistance to glyphosate as we have identified some populations within the state.

To be clear, I mow the pastures, so that is not a problem. I just want something to spray on fencerows.

If you're doing any farming, check out the Weed Zapper by Old School Mfg. It electrically fries the taller vegetation down to the roots. Very effective for going over shorter soy bean type crops.

Very effective for weeds that have become Round Up resistant and early spring burning.

If it is the fence line just spray glyphosate.

The active ingredient in roundup is glyphosate, and roundup has suddenly quit killing Johnson grass

Are you mixing it yourself? Glyphosate kills Johnson grass.
