Hey all -

This is the 2nd summer we've been at this rowhouse on capitol hill in DC with a small backyard.

For some reason, far more weeds between these pavers.

So many more that I don't recall doing any weeding last year at all, and with no treatment at all or work done yet, it's like a little green forest out there.

What is the best way to attack these so that they're gone, and don't come back...at least for a few months.

Some photos attached:

Thanks for y'all's help in advance.

pickup the stones, rip out all the weeds and roots, lay down a paver grass barrier mat, then put the stones back in place, cover with masonry sand until the cracks fill in.

short of that permanent solution, you can keep after it with a weed killer and spray it each week

Just hit them with roundup and wait a few weeks to see if that kills them. If not, you may need 24d or attazine. But honestly, it looks like you could spend 15 minutes pulling them every 3 or 4 weeks. Weeds will grow in those crack regardless of weed mat or masonry sand.

undiluted white vinegar will wipe those weeds out and keep them from coming back anytime soon. If you see some return hit them again. Cheap, safe and effective.
