Right now my ecobee is saying it's 95% humidity in my house. The AC is running fine and cooling the house normally, I changed the filter a couple days ago as well. The floors feel a little sticky but that's about it. Is my ecobee reading things wrong?

Yea that can't be right. 95% would be miserable and you'd have serious mold issues before too long. 40 to 50 percent is my target.

45-55% is ideal

You would definitely have wet tile I would think. Just doesn't seem right

Just FYI 95 basically means you would have fog in your house our like your bathroom after a hot shower.

Mine has been up around 60-65% last couple days. 95% is no where near accurate.

I’m not sure the sensor on the ecobee is really accurate base case.

That's what I'm figuring might buy one of those indoor readers just to make sure

You can get a good hygrometer (reads humidity + temp) for like 12$ from Walmart or home Depot.

We use them to make sure new wood floors are being kept at optimal humidity, which is usually between 45-55.

35-55% is normal. Prolonged periods above 65% will lead to mold growth.

You have to fill the hole behind the thermostat with spray foam or you will get a false humidity reading.

These cooler muggy days mine gets around 58-60 and I can tell it’s higher. But normally 52-55

I get an email alert from my thermostat if mine gets above 70% and this only happens upstairs when it's been cool enough and very cloudy/foggy that the a/c doesn't come on for a few days at a time.

You need to check this immediately. I’ve seen as high as 70% RH but 95% is insane if accurate. Something is very very wrong. That sounds like more than you needing a whole house dehum or bad oversized HVAC/poorly sealed ductwork
