Clamps
I have some their bar clamps I bought to make some butcher block cutting boards. The notch that holds the bar brace in place bent when I cranked down the clamps. They were cheap so it’s no big deal but I definitely plan to get some quality bar clamps soon

How's Northern Tool compare to HF, Lowes, or HD?
Have no idea really. All my hand power tools are either Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt or Porter Cable as far as tools for woodworking.
I do have 4 older model Craftsman big power tools in a 10 inch table saw, a 12 inch band saw, a 6 inch jointer/planer and a big upright drill press. All those tools are well over 30 years old now and still performing very well.
I do have a good bit of Craftsman hand tools with a mix of Snap-On and Kobalt stuff in my rolling tool chests.

But for the weekend warrior homeowner that uses them for small projects around the house, I don’t think they’re that bad
This.

I'm contemplating getting a 6" belt sander from there but was hesitant b/c of the quality. It's only 77 bucks so I'll probably just go ahead and get it

Their tools are not all poor quality I have Bosch Festool Milwaukee and HF tools. If it’s an odd bird tool the HF is cheeper than renting buy the HF I have had HF out last Bosch tools.
I have never bought a cordless product from HF I stick to corded suspicious of batteries from them no reason just get the corded.
Vibration noise issues with HF tools yes vs major brands but if you are not going to be using it daily who cares but the big companies do seem to do a better job with noise and vibration. Drill Bits blades etc I pass on HF the steel is not that hard.
Mitre saws etc get a quality carpenter square tune up the saw which you should do on every tool they will all get knocked out if they crash and burn take it back.

I've found if it's something that you are going to use just occasionally they are fine.

I've killed every corded HF tool I've ever owned. Each person has different experiences with them, so it's all a crapshoot
