I have a underground drainage system that runs from my backyard down the side of the house to a ditch in front. It was installed over 20 years ago when I bought the house. It is not draining well I'm sure its plugged up with stuff. Tried running a hose down as far as it would go but need a good cleaning out. Can anyone recommend someone who could clean this out for me? Should I just call a plumber or Roto Rooter? Do they do this kind of work? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You could rent a drain auger for 4 hrs and do it your self for $75-100 or pay a plumber $300-400. Just make sure you know the length of pipe and you get the correct length auger. Longer augers are bigger and harder to manipulate so just get what you need.

If it’s pvc pipe it should be safe but may want to research other options if its black corrugated lines because a metal auger could damage it.

A lot of plumbers make the mistake of trying to clean yard drains with an electric snake.

Snakes don't do a good job on yard debris, and if any of the pipe is black corrugated (accordion) material, the tip of a snake will tear through the pipe wall.

Borrow or rent a gas pressure washer, get a sewer jetter, and insert the nozzle into the bottom opening of the yard drain if possible.
