Hunt, fish, lift weights, learn to cook something new, grow vegetables, make hot sauce, change your oil and rotate your tires, read some books, take pictures of wildlife, get your grass looking great

I wouldn't mind getting more into woodworking but my half of the garage is already cluttered and don't have room for table saw or band saw.
For your first few wood working project you could build a small shed to declutter the garage or be your workshop. You tube has several videos of people who have limited space and created versatile workbench and jigs for hand tools functionality.
If you own a home then try some DIY projects to challenge yourself. Everything can be learned easily now via the internet.
Biking does not have to be long rides for hours. Ride a bike for site seeing around your neighborhood or other areas of interest you might have. Twenty minutes of pedaling is all you need for a workout and a start.

I've had a Texas Hold'em league for many years now that meets every other weekend. We 12 games and then have a Tournament of Champions for the top players. Gives me something to look forward to and I really enjoy the social aspect of getting together with a great group of people.
I also read any science fiction novel that I come across. Can't get enough aliens, zombies, killer robots, etc.

Woodworking.
Check out Wordsmith magazine. It used to be geared to building projects with minimum tools and making jigs for projects. Not sure now.

Woodworker here as well and it's extremely therapeutic. I've made tons of boxes with inlays and different types of lids, different species of wood.
That's kind of part of the fun is deciding on what you want the look of the box to look like.
If you have an outdoor area at your house, you would have plenty of space to make things. Good luck in your search baw

I just did a quick search for large tracts of land in my area. The cheapest I found is $750,000 for 80 acres. Most of them are around $4-5 million dollars.
My farm within 15-20 min would be in that range. It's exactly 50 min door to door so it was cheaper (much).
Good thing though is that it's only 20 mins from my mom's house and 50 min close to my in-laws.
The land had been neglected for about 4 years. Its taken a while to get it back into some sort of shape that makes it usable. The tractor was absolutely necessary for that though.

I'm not sure this is the right section of TD to post this, but here goes. I work from home and sit at a computer all day every day for my work. I need to have hobbies that I can look forward to doing on the weekends (or sometimes at the end of the day). Also need stress relief from all the crap happening in the world. I want some aspect of physical labor since I don't go to the gym.
i also am home alone on my computer for work all day.
my hobbies have changed as i've gotten older (moreso my kids have gotten older.)
currently:
trail running
doing a little bit of peleton, but i don't love cycling that much
pickleball
gardening
smoking meats and experimenting with different pizzas and vegetables.
i'm about to start bird feeding in the near future.
i also play a fair amount of fortnite at home alone. i hate to call it a hobby, but i am just decent enough to where my kids will ask me to get on in they need a third or fourth and know i won't embarrass them. i'm not proud of that but it is what it is
i don't play video games at all outside of that, but it's the perfect game to not invest in and if work pops up i can bail quickly.

Time consuming hobby..it will take over your life if you're trying to get on the podium and work yourself up through the different categories.
I got remarried and lost all that free time plus my wife hated my weirdo eating habits.
The trade off was well worth it.
one of the guys in my trail running group is a semi-professional racer.
he's on the podium most weekends and i continue to question the longevity of his marriage.

quote:I say this as someone who really loves the road racing scene: amateur racing is among the most narcissistic and self-serving sports out there. The sheer amount of time you have to put into training on a daily basis leaves little time left over for anything else in your life. I'm sure thewiz would agree with me; he's by far the most accomplished racer on this board and I think he's had to hang up his bike after getting married as well.

Now cycling as a hobby is a wonderful thing. You can find a group in your area and ride a couple evenings a week as well as a long Saturday morning ride and it's no more time consuming then golf or anything else.
But God help you if catch the competitive bug
