Help ID gate and parts for top of stairs

Good morning all. When we got this house, it came with this gate detached from the top of the stairs that would be used to keep kids from running downstairs. Wasn't necessarily useful until now since we have a 6 month old. I'd like to get it working again but I have no idea what parts I would need, nor would I know where to begin looking for who manufacturered this. The pattern of the gate matches the rest of the handrailings and the lock is made by Defiant. Only thing I can probably get away with is replacing the lock with a new one since we don't have the key. Everything else I'm clueless on.
The gate itself.
Where two parts would go to help hold the gate and swivel it.
This is where the two parts from the handrail would attach.
Where the lock would be placed when turned.
Worst case scenario I can just use one of those accordion gates and put it up instead, but this feels a little more secure IMO. Will take all suggestions and if anyone can figure out what exactly I'm looking for with replacement parts, TYIA.

looks like you need the bracket on the stair that has the pin in it to sit the gate on it? LINK
give that a look and see what you can find and search other ornamental iron parts supplies gates

Do you know of any places in the baton rouge area?

Try a good hardware store first. Then try a place like Deep South iron works or search for decorative metals
There’s a few in town

Everyone has made good suggestions regarding your questions. But I can’t be the only one thinking a deadbolt on a baby gate is a little extreme.

The deadbolt just acts as a latch when the gate catches the wallpiece. But yeah this is a VERY aggressive build.

quote:wait until that little shite is about 2 and can figure out a latch then it won’t seem so aggressive.

I’m willing to bet the parts for that gate are in a drawer somewhere in the house. Probably stuck out and it was a hazard coming up and down those steps. Probably just looks like a bolt that has a 90 degree bend

Look for a couple of 90 degree bolts. They will screw into the wall and the gate will hang on the bold to act like a hinge. Everything else appears to be there for it to work

Where it attaches to the main post, if those are threaded, why not get an all thread, bend one facing up, the bottom one being up, top down. You can put the all thread on a drill, sandpaper the threads smooth, paint black. Finished job.

I think this is what you are looking for

Take a look at these rod end bolts McMaster-Carr
Insert these into the threaded shoulder on the gate post, then drop a bolt/stud through the bolt eye and gate hinge eye.

Might give this a shot. This thing has been a pain in the arse to find parts for.

Okay so it turns out I think I figured out what exactly is going on with this "special" upstairs gate. It looks like someone soldered on a nut to the stairs, and also screwed in this thing to the actual gate. Pics will come when I get back to the office.

So, I guess what I'm asking now: what would be the best way to go about getting a new mounting kit and removing these nuts? The gate weighs probably up to 30 lbs.
My current idea is to take an angle grinder, take off the threaded section, and replace with a hinge like this and use the old parts I just took off, but adding thicker metal screws.
I hope this is one of the last times I reference this post. It would probably be easier to just buy a baby gate that can mount into the wall and be removed, but I really want to be able to utilize this matching gate that already came with the rails.
