re: H&G Board: Woodworking Projects
I saw you mentioned that you just learned about red heart.

For your LSU builds look into mixing yellow/Purple Heart.

If we’re getting specific, the photo you provided can go out of the window if we don’t know moisture contents?

The photo is relevant regardless of the moisture content. Even a climate controlled household will have humidity fluctuations through the seasons. I doubt his board will be kept in a vacuum.

Why build a board that you will have to worry about whether its going to be ruined if it is exposed to too much moisture? Just build it the right way the first time and there won't be anything to worry about.

Also, what kind of oil did you use to seal/protect it?

Haven't sealed it yet DC. Big box store didn't have what I needed today so I had to go online and buy both the wax and the oil from here

Odie's Oil

Walrus Wax

I'm not trying to rag on you. Just giving a heads up as I learned this the hard way when I started out. But I've been building/selling boards for nearly a decade now. It's a lot of fun and there are endless designs that can be made.

No worries man, you're looking out so I appreciate that.

No doubt about the endless designs. I've always liked the brick pattern boards personally and I think that is what I'll try my hand at next. Any suggestions of what wood to use?
