392 linear feet of 6 inch gutters (inclusive of 6 two story downspouts)

No gutter filters on this quote.

I remember seeing a promo display and then a guy came out to give us a quote. Probably about 5x what my max expectation was… so you’re quote is likely “normal”.

Where you located, I own a gutter business and May be able to help. That price is really high even if your in a area that got hit with the storm.

I’ll have to pull the invoice but we did ~320’ gutters installed for $2500 about 6 months ago. Not with the leaf filter though.

When you build your house. Check with your insurance agent before having gutters installed. Not that gutters are bad ..Different insurance companies have specific requirements pertaining to downspout locations. Travelers for instance has a standard in which, no downspout will discharge across a sidewalk or a driveway. The reason is quite simple ...someone or a group of someone's slipped, fell and sued the homeowner's insurance for the fall. I have held job site classes to instruct gutter installers on how to avoid the headaches the home owner experiences after a guy like me inspects new and old houses, then writes them up for downspouts and elbows.

The first class took place on a new home, where we had to change the discharge direction of the elbows. Simple fix ...

The insanity is that no building code covers that placement. The insurance companies and building codes need to be the same.

My brother was installing leaf filters up until about a month ago. Still has enough 6" filter to do a couple projects. They're white but can be painted if anyone is interested.
