I am leveling my front yard and side of my house which is about .7 acres this April/May or possibly June depends on temperatures. Because of the size of yard and my budget, I would like to seed this area rather than sod. Can anyone please recommend a great Bermuda hybrid seed that has a respectable success rate. Any recommendations would help!

Thanks

I had great success with Arden 15 (new version of Princess 77) from Hancock Seed and Outdoor Pride. Only issue with it is it’s pretty expensive. I’m planning to switch to Sahara for the rest of the yard.

Arden 15 is one of the prettiest bermudas you can get. It is pricey so you'll want to make sure you prep accordingly and do everything exactly right or you'll waste money. There is another poster that used a different seed and his yard looks great. Hopefully he will chime in as well.

One that is similar to Arden 15 is Pyramid II. You should be able to find it at SiteOne.

I'd hydro-seed if you have new soil and an area that big.

+1. Just have to have hoses, beer, and a strong back.

I hydroseeded with Daniela Bermuda and have been very happy with it. I have a thread somewhere about the process of establishing the yard after the seed was laid down. I am ready for barefoot weather again.
