If your primary objective is to keep foods frozen in deep freezer and kitchen fridge food good, what is the recommended hours of run time:off time
(Ballpark… I know deep freeze is different than fridge and opening/closing door makes a difference, I’m just wondering what y’all doing)

Don't quote me but I think I remember they only need 4+ hours a day to keep stuff frozen if they are full.

I rotate running 2 fridges and a stand up deep freezer. An hour of run time and they're good 4-6+ hrs. I think a hour twice a day would work but err on side of caution.
If you have room a case of frozen waters drastically increases fridge run interval

I did a little bit of internet research yesterday after the same question. For refrigerator they suggested one hour duration every four hours.
For freezer about one hour every six to eight hours. The more food you have the less you need to run it and vice versa. They suggested a remote thermometer probe if you have one.

I have ran my fridge and freezer wifi direct tv fan some lights non stop for 7-9 days on my little honda 2000 watt gen but I change the oil every 40-50 hours no issues at all.
being prepared a small chest freezer is ideal you can defrost stuff in a cooler
also all you need is a full co2 tank to make dry ice in a pinch

This doesn’t really answer your question but if it makes you feel better, I ran my generac 6500 from Lowe’s for 40 days straight, only shutting it off to change the oil every three days and then turning it right back on.

My deep freeze barely runs when it has power all the time, I would be comfortable running it only an hour a day or twice a day.
I am going to be running the generator constantly to keep the house cool with window units so I am just going to power them constantly.
