Myself, parents, and inlaws all have generacs. Less than a year old. All 3 hit their break in period during storm. I changed oil and filter in all 3 and checked oil each day it ran. The oil level was always at the bottom line on the dip stick where it says add oil. Pulled air filter and oil is puddled up in all 3 generators. Any of you guys have this issue?

Also had mine hit break in during IDA. no issue like that.

I did run it and check the level before the storm. was your oil level possibly high by chance ?

Clogged PCV valve
Overfilled oil
Blow by from bad rings or rings aren’t seated yet
Engine is running in an unlevel surface

Most likely culprit is PCV valve

I could see if it was just mine, but all 3 new ones in the family? They all level. Book says 1.9 quarts of oil I put 2 quarts as recommended by company that maintains others in my
Neighborhood.

How much oil are you talking? A little residue is completely normal.

Had some thing with ours, had 17 hours when storm hit.

Just a little residue in the air box, I chalked it up to a slight over fill after first oil change. Haven’t had anymore since i wiped it out when I discovered it.

Generator has run +/- 250 hours since then and had another oil change.

Had the same issue. Low oil light came on so added some oil. Started having issues with it and pulled air filter and oil puddled . We soaked up as much as we could. Kept having same issue.
