Not saying this would work in every case, but a handyman-type guy I know showed me a hack that helped right a problem something like yours: take a quarter (25 cents) and duck tape it flat to one of the inside hinges - the one furthest from problem.... ex. bottom hinge if problem is near top. Try it. If it works for you, leave it there.

Yeah, I do think that is an option. Some family coming in this weekend including a very handy old man. I'll get his help.

I don't want to on the side, but if I have to do it on top, fine. I had one lat week. No idea what I did with it in the move.

I can't get the pin out.
I’ve had stubborn, problem pins before, but used a little WD40 or 3-in-1 oil to lube the pin, and then use a Phillips screw driver of the right size diameter and place the tip of the screwdriver on the bottom of the door hinge pin and then tap it out with a hammer from the bottom (not the way the guy in the videos does it). That’s always worked for me.

I may try that, but this hinge looks bent up-might as well replace it.

If bent, yep I’d replace it. Hope you can find a match.

I will remove it for the trip to the store.

I bent the knuckles..worked great.

I did the same thing. Had a few doors that were either sticking or sagging just enough to where they wouldn’t latch easily.
I bent the hinge like the guy on the hinge dr video, but I just used a normal crescent wrench. Didn’t have to remove the door or the hinge.

Yeah..First I made sure the hinges were screwed in tight..Closed the door and removed the pin..bent both knuckles the same amount (very important). Lifted the door by the handle until knuckles aligned and put the pin in. After getting it in past the second knuckle I tested the door. It worked and I put the pin all the way.

One more thing. I asked an actual handy man by trade about it. When one does some of these tricks, one then encounters rubbing on top after the door realigns. He told me to tap the framing from the bottom. Boom, much better opening and closing. I may have to caulk a little though.

Sixteen penny nail up from the bottom to remove.... but it's real easy to not give, removing center screw from top hinge, and replacing with 3" deck screw. Doesn't always work and sometimes you have to shim out the bottom. Couple pieces not corrugated (thick) cardboard will do assuming it was good to begin with.

Where are y'all finding plastic shims? Neither home Depot nor Ace hardware have anything available for purchase.

Found mine at a hardware store in town, but this hardware store has virtually everything, and if by chance they don’t, they will the next time you go.
Anyway they are “Quick Align Hinge Shims”, EZ-Shim, Inc. www.ezshim.com
ETA: it was a “Do It Best” hardware store.
