We have this front coming through this Wed/Thurs in Houston. Temps are supposed to get down into the upper 60s at night but back up to 90s during the day. When you say soil temps at 70 degrees, are we talking a one time deal where it dips to 70 and heats back up during the day with the sun or are we talking sustained soil temps?

Made a short prodiamine guide if anyone needs it. Have one for specticle also. If anyone has any suggestions on how it could be better I'm all ears.

I'm hoping it gets cheaper at some point. This is just flo. I didn't do G as it isn't as popular.

Given the choice, would you use Prodiamine or Specticle for the fall pre emergent application?

Moved in to a new home over the summer so I’m starting over. Have plenty VBW, dollarweed and every other weed common in South Louisiana.

Mostly St Aug but some zoysia and Bermuda in random spots.

I've done really well over time with prodiamine and you can't beat 5lbs for around $80. Specticle is good but the cost is very high. I would start with prodiamine for about 2 years. I think you will have great results. Can start to add in an app of specticle once per year. It's what I did. From this AM

If you already have a buttload of weeds I would throw this down:

$22 on Amazon and will cover 4k ft2. Same active ingredient as Specticle. Very pricey but easy to spread plus has some post-emergent control

Assuming cost isn't a factor, Specticle all day.

I already have both.

Seem to remember reading ronk or craw talking about prodiame in the fall and spectacle in the spring years back. I searched but couldn’t find the thread.

Specticle is the best pre em. There is no pre em for VBW but it is the best for doveweed.

That is accurate and is what I follow as well.

For me it is specticle in the fall and prodiamine in the spring. In DFW poa and rescue grass can get out of control (we don't have doveweed here) and you can't beat specticle for that. Prodiamine is great for crabgrass which we have a lot of in the summer.

I have some Resolute 65 WG Prodiamine showing up today. Should I apply now or wait (St.Charles Parish)? Greencast site is down due to maintenance.
