Electric Heater for Attic

Although too late for this cold snap, any recommendations for an electric heater for attic space? Two-story house and unfished attics on each side of the bonus room. It got to 30 in one of the attics (it is over an unheated garage) last night and in the mid-30s on the other side. Would like something programmable to come on at a certain temp so I can just leave it in the attic year-round.

Would you like AC also? My split unit in my patio has heat and AC.

Why in the hell would you waste money trying to heat the attic? There's nothing you could plug in and leave that would make a dent in these temps. I've seen a guy try to vent into their attic space adjoining two upstairs bedrooms directly from a zoned heat pump system with a 20kW heat strip and accomplish nothing more than running up his electricity bill.

Oh, I don't know, maybe because one degree can be the difference between pipes freezing and not? No one is trying to heat the attic, they are trying to keep it above 32 degrees for the two or three nights per year it gets to teens and single digits.

Is it worth the cost? My opinion is that this doesn't happen often enough to warrant that expenditure. It is much cheaper to run the water

Lots of people manage to do this without running a heater in the attic.

If your attic Is properly vented then that heat is gonna escape. Why in the world would you do this???

Why not heat trace the water pipes? Heat tracing tape comes with a thermostat. It would be much cheaper than a space heater in the attic.

Yep. That's what I'd do.
Type in "Frost King" or Heat Cable in a search engine. You'll find a lot of products that will help.
If you're in the South, you don't really need to worry that much about it.

Why would you waste money heating the air in an attic when you can simply insulate the pipes? And use heat trace if you are really concerned but here in Louisiana, the insulation is probably sufficient.
