Check out Creative Ironworks in MS. They have a good website.
Can't remember what I paid, but they were by far the most reasonable. They charged me less for a gate with controls and install than some of the other guys wanted to just fab me up the gate. I had a local brick mason do the columns.

I got quoted around 5k for a single gate, with automatic opener with an additioanl 6 feet or so of iron fence on each side. I'd be willing to bet it's gone up since I got that quote well over a year ago

Waiting on a 12' aluminum gate (single) with opener. Price was right at 6K. They told me 6-8 weeks. I've been waiting 16.

Has anyone went the cheap route and installed it themselves? Looks like about $2k for a 12’ powder coated gate + metal posts and $500-900 for the electronics.

I used Gonzales Gate. They are good and fair but damn electric gates are expensive and a constant maintenance hassle.
Pay more for the commercial actuators if you can. They will last much longer.

I just replaced the actuator on my 12' iron gate. I used a mighty mule 660 set up from ebay. Super simple.
Not sure what the maintenance comment was about. I havent had to touch mine in 5 years besides just changing the broken actuator, which was 10 years old
