I bought one in 2021. I did register it and the battery failed just yesterday. I called customer service they had me do a test on it and call them back. After the test they confirmed it was a bad battery. They said they would mail a new one and when I receive it, I am to call them and register the new battery. Pretty good customer service in my opinion. Although it sounds like they may have issues with their batteries.

Good to know. I bought one of their blowers last June. For how proud they are of them, I’d expect the battery to last longer than a yr. After seeing this thread, I went to their website to make sure I registered mine last summer.

I had a battery fail but it was mostly my fault. For those who have had failed batteries, what capacity were they? Mine was a small one, 2.0 or 2.5 amp hour, and I killed it by working it too hard with the edger. It shut itself off several times but I kept pushing it. I've had my replacement pack for a couple years now and no problems, and I have a couple 5ah packs now and they have never shut down under load like the small pack did. I believe this is because with twice as many cells, each one only works half as hard.

I Received and registered the new battery on 4/17. last week the new battery quit charging. I've used this battery maybe twice!!
Called EGO and no questions asked the said they would send a new battery. Looks like I was correct, they have problems with their batteries.

my battery went bad right after the 3 year warranty expired, $250 for a new one
you could have just bought the chainsaw that came with a new battery for cheaper than that.

Thanks for the heads up, will definitely register the chainsaw that's on the way.
Reminded me of the Datsun joke...

Perhaps you should have shelled out a few more bucks for the Superego version.
