Electric dryer. I noticed water in the drum of my dryer. That indicates condensation from a clogged vent. I pulled the dryer, disconnected the exhaust hose, and vacuumed all dust from the dryer. I even have a long attachment for my vacuum to reach deep into the wall. Bad news is I didn't encounter a clogged up section. This means the clog is somewhere from the outside vent to inside wall (~45 FEET).

Is the clog in an elbowed section? Can I do this or do I need someone with a snake to push thru the clog. There is no air coming from the outside vent.

if you have 45 feet of drier vent you should sue the builder and slap the frick outta whoever designed that stupidity

drier vents should never be more than 20ft long at most from the drier location

As a kid, I one time slept walked and pissed in the dryer. Apparently I made a lot of noise in the process, and came to to my mom and step dad losing their minds

Start at the exhaust exit.
Work in from there with the dryer running on fluff\air.

45' is a long run. Stores sell a brush attachment for a drill but not that long. And, the vent is likely constricted from build-up as opposed to simply an elbow blockage...the whole thing needs to be cleaned out.

That’s why most dryers are near an outside wall. Whoever designed your house is an idiot.

Does that long section run through your attic? Can you access the attic?

There should be one or more joints on the exhaust hose/pipe that you can open up and clean from the mid point.

Or just replace the clogged section. Those hose/pipes aren’t that expensive.

My house is 40+ years old. My dryer was taking multiple cycles to dry and I finally decided to take the exhaust line apart and clean it. The line is about 30-40 feet. After I took it apart, I saw it was restricted down to a very narrow opening in one section. After cleaning, it works fine.

If you take it apart, mark the sections with numbers so you know how to put it back together.

You could try your leaf blower from the inside, but 45 feet is a really long way. Who the hell does that? Try it and see if it works.

Dammit, rltiger.

Take an air compressor and blow back from the outside.

If it goes up it's best to call someone with the right equipment. It can be a pain to get to.
Look for a chimney or vent cleaning specialist.

If you just use the brush or brush on a drill and don't go all the way through you're just making a bigger clog.

Blow it out from the inside with your yard blower.

Maybe someone above recommended but I would add a dryer vent booster fan.

Coworker had a similar issue with a long vent run in his slab. The line had a low spot and Wilkins fill up with condensation. A leaf blower might blow the water out but chances are the air would just go over the water. But if you felt air coming out the vent, at least you would know that it is not just blocked with lint.

If it runs through the slab it is likely filled with condensation. Shop vac from the outside to suck out the water.
