I have dollarweed (or at least its cousin) in big patches on my yard. Best remedy? I have Clegg's cocktail ingredients.

Is it too hot for Clegg's cocktail? Upper 80s every day. Could use some Msm?
I have some common blue violet and creeping Charlie I need to do something with.
Hopefully the board experts weigh in.

quote:Generall yes, but you may be able to get away with it if you spray early morning or late evening with this upcoming cool front. I'm seeing lows in the upper 50s/low 60s later this weekend.

Dollarweed (pennywort) usually indicates an area that stays too wet.
After you treat it, you may want to level.
Do you have St. Aug? Are you mowing high enough?
I would try Atrazine (Clegg's Cocktail) with the cooler temps, and then hit it again in 3-4 weeks with MSM Turf.
Make sure not to mow before or after application for at least 2 days.

I will try to get pics up at some point. It is above where our water main passes through, which is fully functioning but it has a dip in the soil, so whenever it does rain it will pool up. I have tried leveling in the past but may need to do it again over in that patch. We have been mowing higher than in the past and grass is finally looking healthier but this area of the lawn is definitely staying wet. Lots of tree coverage and only gets morning sun.
Just checked and BR will be receiving ran between tomorrow through Saturday with low 80s as the high and high 70s as the low.

If it is dollar weed, MSM will kill it, but it may take a few applications

I personally love the dollar weed in my back yard, it is fitting, it backs up to the water, it stays green, its a cool shape, I don't see the hate. I guess the only hate is it isn't the plant you chose to cover your ground.

Whatever you use I’d add a surfactant.

Went to a student camp a couple of years ago in Tennessee, and for helping to clean up a nursery, they gave each student a tiny container with one pennywort in it

It’s probably dichondra, which is slightly different than dollar weed. It has a small cleft in the shape. Atrazine (spray now before it’s above 90 degrees) or Celsius (need 2 applications) take care of it.
