Bought our Bosch from a local appliance dealer (Lowe's, HD, etc don't usually have the full lines).

I appreciate the information. By “full lines”, do you mean a Lowe’s model versus a local appliance dealer model? I know the mowers that are in front of the store are not made as well as the ones that you would get from a dealer. Is that the case with dishwashers too?

I agree with Bosch rec. I replaced old GE with a Bosch and am happy. Note that they only install with a plug now, so if you have a hard wire, you will have to put in a receptacle. I recommend getting whichever model has the auto dry feature. Bosches don't have heated drying. This feature superheats the water then pops door open a smidge automatically to get dishes dry. It works great (although i think the ones without get decently dry also). I also really enjoy the 3rd rack.

Looks like I'm the first to mention Frigidaire. not sure if that's a good thing or bad, lol .
But I have Frigidaire Professional series of Dishwasher, gas range/oven, and Microwave.
No issues on any of them. Bought after the flood of 2016.
The dishwasher is very quiet. often times I check to make sure its even running.

My Lowe’s doesn’t have Bosch at all. Saw someone in this thread mention seeing Bosch 100/300 at Lowe’s though. The local dealer I went to had every available model, low to high end. It may depend on Lowe’s and which location you’re at.

As for the auto-dry feature; either it’s new since I got mine or mine just doesn’t have it. Sounds really nice, but if it’s only available on something out of your price range don’t be deterred. The dealer I bought from recommended just propping the door open with a rolled up towel to ensure all the steam can escape, otherwise it will just fall back on the dishes and they won’t be dry. That’s worked well in my experience. If I run it at night, the dishes are dry in the morning when I open it no matter what. But if I can’t unload it until later that day or something, I put the towel in the door and it keeps them from just getting wet again. Just keep a supply of Jet Dry on hand, that’s probably the biggest consideration with no heat source on the Bosch. But the Jet Dry and door prop is probably something I’d do on any brand.

with Bosch, I have always found that if you select the "Sanitize" option to provide a very hot rinse, everything drys just fine.

I have a bunch of kids so we always use the sanitize feature. Maybe that’s why mine seems to do fine even if run at night.

Our GE Profile is the best and most quiet dishwasher we’ve ever had. Eight years old and as good as new.

i think this is basically what the auto dry does, then just pops the door open a touch automatically. it's a nice feature for when we start it before bed, but we generally just use the quick wash and unload immediately

I'm late to the party, but I'll tell you this. First time we ran our Bosch, it scared the shite out of me cause I though it wasn't working.

Turns out, it's just so quiet I didn't realize it was running!

GE. They are made by a Chinese company now.

Not true. Their parent company is Haier but nearly all of their product line is built in USA

Every repair man I have had fix this thing says to avoid GE like the plague.

This is because GE uses GE employees for service, essentially eliminating an independent service man from getting this business
